Exploring New Territories with the 2024 Ford Explorer

Whether you’re ready to take on the world or your biggest adventure is a trip to the home improvement store, the 2024 Ford Explorer has the power to handle it. When its comfortable interior, flexible cargo space, and advanced connectivity, the Explorer has the strength, comfort, and technology to meet your needs.

Beautifully Rugged Exterior

With its sleek, athletic silhouette, the Explorer turns heads. The distinctive black grille, black door handles, rear spoiler, 18″ sparkle silver aluminum wheels, and rear bumper step pad all add to the Explorer’s sporty aesthetic, and the power liftgate gives you easier access to your cargo. Higher trims have an available twin-panel moonroof.

Comfortable Interior

The Explorer has a spacious interior spread over three rows, and it can comfortably seat up to seven. A tri-zone climate control system means that all three rows have access to heating and cooling.

Cargo Space

With all of the seats upright, the Explorer still has plenty of cargo space behind each row. However, the second row has a 35/30/35 split-fold bench seat, while the third row has a 50/50 split-fold bench seat, so you’re able to accommodate several different seating and storage configurations. An optional cargo management system helps organize your gear in Ford-branded style.

Adaptable Drive

The Explorer comes with rear-wheel drive, but Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive is an available option. It has the Terrain Management System, which allows you to easily change your vehicle’s settings to adapt to different terrains. The drive modes include:

  • Normal
  • Trail
  • Slippery
  • Sport
  • Tow/haul
  • Eco

The four-wheel drive option also includes a deep snow/sand drive mode. The Trailer Sway Control feature helps keep your vehicle stable even when hauling a large load.

Safety and Driver-Assistance

The Explorer comes loaded with features that make driving easier and safer, even in challenging driving situations. For example, the Lane Keeping System includes Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Driver Alert. They work together to help keep you alert even on long drives. They monitor the lanes and your car’s position. If you start to veer over the lines without signaling, you’ll be alerted. If you do this repeatedly, you’ll be given a signal that you should take a break.

Other driver-assistance features on the Explorer include:

  • Rear parking sensors
  • Intelligent adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot information system
  • Cross-traffic alert
  • Rear view camera with backup assist grid lines
  • SOS post-crash alert system
  • AdvanceTrac with roll stability control

Audio and Connectivity

The Explorer comes equipped with an impressive B&O sound system, complete with 14 speakers and subwoofer. It uses FordPass Connect to keep you informed of oil changes, tire pressure, fuel level, and other vehicle maintenance issues. The Explorer has Apple CarPlay and Android Audio compatibility.
