Pierre Ford of Seattle service center

Your Ford dealership in Seattle, WA, has a wide range of essential services to keep your Ford in great shape. We can provide any level of service, from an engine tune-up to major repairs. These are a few of the services that we offer.

Starter Repair or Replacement

The starter is responsible for initiating the crank that starts your engine. When you push the start button on the dash, an electrical current is sent from the battery to the starter solenoid. This powers the solenoid, activating the starter, which cranks the engine. When the engine cranks, fuel, and air enter the intake manifold and mix, and the combustion process begins.

A starter could fail due to age, or it might not be receiving power. If your battery is weak, it won’t supply enough power to the starter in one charge, and you’ll hear the crank laboring to start the engine. It’s easy to tell if the starter is the problem, as a working starter produces a faint click when you push the start button. If you don’t hear a click, the starter is damaged. We’ll examine your starter and fix the problem or replace the starter.

Coolant Replacement

The radiator acts as a heat exchange by removing engine heat. Liquid coolant is continually pumped through your engine and absorbs heat from the engine as it moves. The now hot coolant passes into the radiator tubes. The rows of thin aluminum tubes provide a large surface area for heat exchange. Cooler air flows through the radiator grille and passes over the tubes to remove the heat.

Over time, coolant will degrade and become less efficient at removing heat, and your engine can start to overheat. If your engine temperature rises for no apparent reason, your coolant may need replacement. Our technicians will test your coolant, then drain and replace it. We’ll also check your engine to ensure that no damage has been caused.

Alternator Replacement

The alternator’s job is to produce electricity for your Ford’s systems and devices. The alternator is powered by the movement of the crankshaft, which causes it to spin at high speed to generate electricity. As the alternator ages, it slows down due to worn components and produces less electricity than it previously did.

If your alternator is failing, the battery warning light on the dash will illuminate. You might also experience electrical glitches, for example, a radio that suddenly switches off. As the alternator gets weaker, it won’t completely recharge the battery, and your battery will die. We’ll test your alternator and install a new one to fix this problem.
